Special Educational Needs & Disabilities
Ali thoroughly enjoys and is very proud to represent a number of music charities based in the UK. He acts as a music leader and mentor for Live Music Now and as a lead artist & music practitioner for Jessie's Fund and Olympias Music Foundation.
Ali uses his knowledge of music and experience of working in SEND settings to create musical activities that can be used to help aide the self expression and communication of young people with severe learning difficulties and profound needs.
Over the past 11 years Ali has visited hundreds of SEND schools, as well as young offenders prisons, medium secure units, adult day centres, nursing homes and interactive performances.
"They all listened well to the instructgions, which were spoken very clearly. Lewis (ASC) was very engaged and laughing/smiling throughout the session, even though he is noise sensitive and had fun banging the drums! The pupils were very engaged during the session. They all took part, some with a little encouragement, but this is normal.
All of our pupils got involved with the activities. It was great to get every child up at the beginning to play chimes. Some children find it difficult to fully access music without full support. Engaged enthusiastically all round!"
